Why Science??
The survey responses, statistics, and anecdotes abound. Most people, including some working in scientific fields themselves, lack a proper scientific education. Scientific common sense is not widely held or appreciated. On extreme ends of the spectrum, science can be either blindly lauded or blindly loathed. This is a dangerous situation for several reasons, but many scientists and non-scientists are finding ways to debunk pseudo-science, interest the public in scientific findings and literacy, and generally promote scientific education.
This blog will be devoted to all topics within this realm, paying specific attention to nutrition - one of several areas I believe are common intersections of everyday life and the sciences (others include more general medical information, environmental issues, and science public policy).
